We have collectively been through a tough time. Life as we knew it was suddenly shaken up by a pandemic that was out of our individual, and often collective control, and for many people underlying red alert systems were switched on with an intensity that took them by surprise.

Our minds like certainly and happy predicted futures. They dislike things being out of control or uncertain. They dislike people getting sick, changes of routine, unstable work situations, cramped conditions, limited access to the outdoors and to people we love, and often they dislike being told what to do. And so if you already had a propensity to feel stressed and anxious or even experience panic attacks, you most likely are experiencing more than you would like at the moment.

It is a non-discriminatory experience. You can be the most successful and influential person in the world and still be affected by this. In fact, studies show that you are more likely to be. But also more likely to be hiding it.

But there's so much that can be done if you are willing to ask for help, and it is much more straightforward than you might think. I work with people like you completely confidentially, many of whom go on, not to just have their symptoms eased, but to be completely free of them occurring at all. I use a number of different tools that all work with the unconscious mind to release the connections that have been leading to the anxiety, stress and/or panic attacks that you've experienced until now. Using a bespoke combination of coaching, hypnotherapy, NLP, EMI, embodiment, breathwork, and therapeutic techniques such as Gestalt, we quickly and simply get to the heart of what is going on for you and release what you no longer need to be holding on to in order for you to gain a deep relief from limiting problem patterns and behaviours. Clients who experience this was of working often come into a session feeling stuck and closed down and leave with a sense of elation and personal freedom sometimes never experienced before. It is a wonderful way to work.

So are you ready to be free of the stress and anxiety that has been holding you back?

Drop me a note here and we can create a time for a free assessment where you can ask any questions you might have before booking with me. Pop back to finish this article though as below I give you some suggestions of things you can do today to begin to make a difference.

And even before we meet there are a few things you can do that will begin to help:

Change your relationship to the anxiety

You will here talking heads in the media speaking of anxiety as if it's an identity level experience. One of the things that makes me recoil the most is the use of the phrase "my anxiety" when someone is describing their experience. This implies that it is part of you. Something that you are rather than you do, which makes it much, much harder to shift. It is far easier to change a behaviour rather than a body part. So be clear. You 'do' anxiety, it is not who you are. And like stopping smoking, which many people thought was very difficult until it became the norm to do so, when they do, it feels the easiest thing in the world.

Empty the full cup

Anxious feelings and panic attacks come from the body and mind getting too full to function. Imagine a cup of water filled to the brim. One more drop and it overflows. Make sure you are getting enough true rest. Anxiety lives in the top of the body, relaxation much lower so breathe fully and deeply down into your stomach. Feel the weight of your pelvis as your stomach relaxes. Let go of the things that you don't need to be holding right now and dare I say it, ask for help. Delegate. Say no. Exhale. Make that call. And to switch to another metaphor, do not under any circumstances just recharge the battery to 1% in order to keep going at full pace. This is about a change to how you operate, not a way to get a quick fix to allow you to get to the next stressful event.

Learn to relax your body

When you check in with your body now, you may find your jaw is tight, your lips may be overly pursed, in between your shoulder blades or your lower back may be holding more than they want to be, or something else may be tight and tense. These are all useful, but often painful signs that your system needs to let go more than it is now. Do some gentle Hatha yoga or have a bath, do a full body scan to see where needs to soften and relax. Listen to what your body is telling you. It is far wiser than you can know on an intellectual level, but develop an intuitive relationship with your body and it will point the way to letting go of tension that in turn will ease the anxiety.

Play with these three ideas and see where they take you. And if you would like to know more of how you can be helped please do get in touch and we can have a conversation to go through how things are for you and how you would like them to be. There is so much that can be done. You really don't have to live a life where you are negatively impacted by anxiety and all that it brings. Freedom can be here sooner than you might think.
